Coconut and the Duke chose "Panama" to close their year-long Cover Of The Month Club.  The duo have redone Van Halen's super car/girl tune, featuring a hopping 1900's era parlor-piano sound. This month, the Invasive Folk duo are joined by Mike Rambo on piano (of The Michael Rambo Project), plus The Duchess, Farmgirl and Barnacle add vocals and The Thinker plays Pan-American flutes.

Hard to believe it has been over 10 years since Norah Jones burst onto the scene.  There were some real gems on that debut album.  Most notably, Don't Know Why - written by Jesse Harris.  Coconut and The Duke have taken the tune and turned it inside out for their June Cover Of The Month. Returning for more backup vocals is Kinzy Janssen and The Thinker bows his stand-up bass.

"We'll give it a shot"...so sings, Jon Bon Jovi in their '80s glory ballad "Living On A Prayer".  For this month, Coconut and The Duke have given their best shot at reinventing the tune.  The Invasive Folk duo have recorded their cover for Cover Me - an all-covers music blog.  Listen for The Thinker on bass.  Extra credit for identifying the chord changes.

Now that Spring has sprung and Nature is so very nice, Coconut and The Duke cover the song Nature Boy.  The invasive folk duo dig a Gypsy/Jug Band groove on Eden Ahbez's jazz classic.  This month's lineup includes The Duchess and Kinzy Janssen on vocals, Olaf Lind on violin and The Thinker on Castanetes and Fujara.

As the massive snow piles finally begin to melt and with Spring on the horizon, it is time to start thinking about American's favorite pass time.  No, not baseball.  Watching girls go by!  Coconut and The Duke have recorded "Music To Watch Girls By" by Andy Williams to act as your soundtrack.  For this month's cover, fellow-girl watcher Dr. Rob Swift aka "The Thinker" adds vocals and saxophones.

For this month's edition of the Cover Of The Month Club, Coconut and The Duke have ventured into uncharted waters.  The invasive folk duo explored a show tune: "Pilate's Dream" from Andrew Lloyd Weber's Jesus Christ Superstar.

With the start of a new decade, one has to make sure to look back and remember ones that have come to pass.  Nothing says '90s music more than the Red Hot Chili Peppers.  Coconut and The Duke have honored Anthony, Flea and company by reworking their hit "Give It Away" with a laidback tempo, some circus waltzing and a host of guests - Dr. Rob Swift (sax and stand-up bass), The Duchess (vocals), Duke Jr. (vocals) and Vicki the robot (vocals).

'Tis the season for giving.  Coconut and The Duke continue to give away free mp3s.  But instead of a genre-bending reinteruptaion, the invasive folk duo have redone a jazz standard.  The band has paired up with Feed My People, an Eau Claire, Wisconsin foodbank, to give you "Brother Can You Spare A Dime?".  The giving doesn't stop there.  During the holidays, there is nothing better than a good hot meal.  Please visit Feed My People on the web and donate.

Vampires seem to be everywhere these days.  So it makes perfect sense for Coconut and The Duke to cover Vampire Weekend's "Walcott".  Instead of a keyboard-driven anthem, the invasive folk duo have slowed it down - brought the song from the stadium into the parlor.  Special guest, The Duchess handles the lead vocals.

To celebrate the ghostly season, Coconut and The Duke have reworked Danny Elfman's song "This Is Halloween" - which is the opening number in Tim Burton classic "Nightmare Before Christmas" and was also covered by Marylyn Manson.

As the calendar turns to September, Coconut and The Duke turn to an '80s power-pop classic. In this month's edition of The Cover Of The Month Club, the invasive folk duo have covered Bryan Adams' "Run To You" in a horn-driven soul-dub style.

The first edition to the Cover of The Month Club is Eddie Money's Two Tickets To Paradise.  Taking cues from their invasive folk background, Coconut and The Duke reinvent the song in a Django Reinhardt vein.
